Residual Current Monitoring Devices
Residual current monitors (RCMs) are designed to safeguard earthed electrical systems, such as TN and TT networks, by continuously tracking fault or residual currents. Using precision current transformers, RCMs measure the sum of all conductors—excluding the protective earth—to detect even minor deviations.
Unlike standard RCDs, residual current monitors provide early warnings before the shutdown threshold is reached. This allows for timely intervention, reliably identifying insulation deterioration at an early stage and helping prevent potential electrical hazards.
